"For the LORD God is a sun and shield;

the LORD bestows favour and honour;

no good thing does He withhold

from those whose walk is blameless."

Bro Nelson's Testimony

I want to Thank God for His love & mercy. My family and I want to thank Senior Pastor Nicholas, Senior Associate Pastor Theresa, Asst. Pastor Daniel and Brothers and Sisters of The Way Church for praying for me.

I went through a successful operation on 15 April 2008. My first operation was in 1987 which was a heart-by pass operation. At that time, the doctor told me I would live for 10 years but by God's mercy and grace, I have lived for 22 years and still going on. This operation the doctor told me it will last for 5 years but I believe it will be longer by God's grace too. God send me the best specialist to operate on me. The Lord's timing was just right as the doctor - Dr. James Tan, an expert urologist who is a Christian and attends New Life Baptist Church, said it was the right time to remove the left kidney which had a 6.5 cm tumour with cancerous cells surrounding it while they are in tact.

Thank God for His protection upon me.

Glory, Honour & Praise Be Unto Him.

U.O.I.G.D

I thank God for the change in atmosphere in the classroom I'm working in. I'm sure it must be God's move!

When I first started at this school last year, working with children 6-9yrs old (P1-3), everyday after lunch, they came back to class for meditation as a way of calming them down for the afternoon period. The teacher would set up a table at the front of class with a piece of glass that had the word "Peace" on it and lit up an incense stick. Then the children would each have a meditation mat and they were to sit in a yoga posture with eyes closed to "meditate" (supposedly).

I had been very uncomfortable with that but I usually do not stay for that part as I work half days. On days when I had to stay back to help, I'd just read them a story. Strangely, at the end of last year, the teacher I was working with, unexpectedly quit. It really came as a surprise to some of us coz she was very thick with the principal. However, she was getting quite pressurized as several parents were raising issues with the principal regarding the progress of their children under her instruction.

Anyway, we got a new teacher this year. She is young but has a heart for the children. I told her about this meditation thing and that I wasn't comfortable with it. So I asked her how she felt and if we could put the whole incense paraphernalia away. She was glad too! So at the start of this school year, the children stopped the "new age" meditation. The teacher just played stories on audio for them. Then just a week ago, we had a speaker, Greg Biddell at our church here who spoke about the biblical aspect of health and he brought some books and CDs to sell. He said it was annointed music that could be used in hospitals, schools, exercise classes,etc. Right away I thought I had to get it for my class. So a few days ago, I brought it in and the teacher used it and liked it very much.

Praise God now we have annointed music that will truly calm the children. I do believe God's spirit will move in the midst of these 19 children in my class and overflow the school (touching even the principal who professes to be Buddhist). Also a few weeks ago we went on a school camp, some 50+ children. We went to a very quiet monastic town run by Benedictine monks (catholics). Although this is a catholic instituition, it opened the eyes of many of these children who have never stepped inside a church, not seen a priest and have only heard about God or Christianity spoken negatively.

Amazingly when we were there, the guide who took us on the town tour told the children to look out for the letters (U.O.I.G.D or something like that). It represented the latin phrase translated to mean " In all things may God be glorified". The children then went on to ask what does glorified mean? I believe the children's spiritual awareness have been raised to know that God is present. I'll pray that these children will continue to seek and to know the true God who loves them.

With love,
