Psalms 84:11

"For the LORD God is a sun and shield;

the LORD bestows favour and honour;

no good thing does He withhold

from those whose walk is blameless."

Experiencing God's Grace and Favor

Preaching on the grace and favor of God is one thing, it is another to believe, claim and experience them tangibly.

In my usual weekday morning routine, I would drive by Thomson Road en route to Hannah's school. Somehow, the traffic condition on Wednesday morning was heavier than usual. Cars were literally inching their way through. And as my car was inching its way and was barely a few meters from the gantry, I suddenly realized that I had forgotten to insert the cash card. Quickly I inserted it into the IU unit. And as the car went underneath the gantry, there was no deduction made and realized that I was too late in inserting the cash card into the IU unit.

I went to LTA office shortly after that and the report was generated as a summon. The fine was $10 on top of the $1.50 which I had to pay for the gantry. In reasoning with the officer, I was referred to a room to make an appeal for waiver of the fine.

Without asking for much details after relating the incident, the approval to waive the fine was granted. All praise and thanks be to God for His grace and favor. In all, it took me less than 10 minutes in LTA to sort this out. That, is a greater miracle...

God's Favour: New Thomson MRT Line!

Praise the Lord for His favour!

As a heavy user of the public transportation system (BUS, MRT, TAXI, but esp MRT and BUS) for the past 40 over years, our Snr Pastor is very excited and grateful about the newly announced plans for a MRT Thomson Line.

According to the news, the government plans to double the MRT network by 2020, with two more new rail lines to be built. One of the new lines is the 18-station Thomson Line, which will travel northwards through the Central Business District, up through Ang Mo Kio and Woodlands.

It will connect estates such as Sin Ming, Kebun Baru, Thomson and Kim Seng.

For Pastor Nic, it means..Sin Ming to the city - 20 minutes, instead of the current 45 minutes. ..its almost as fast as travelling by car.

For all this time, he has taken one and a half hours to travel to church via bus and MRT, but with the new Thomson Line, it will now take him less than half the time.

With this convenient development, he does not have to look for another place more conveniently located to the amenities. He can continue to live in his well-loved home at Sin Ming Avenue.

And even if he decides to move out eventually, he can be sure of an increased valuation of his unit, thanks to the new MRT line. Praise God for His favour indeed!

Our God is Mighty to Save

On Sunday, I shared briefly on Genesis 3:15 "and I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed: he shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel" (NASB)

This verse has been termed termed as "proto evangelium" or the very first announcement of the gospel (Good News) to mankind. Through this verse, Eve will bring forth a unique seed, a unique son - the One that will be The Savior of the world. Satan will only succeed in bruising the heel of our Messiah (temporal), but our Lord Jesus will, at once and for all time -crush the head of the serpent - and He did that on the Cross. What a Glorious God whom we worship - One who could see the world that could never made it on its own and will need a Redeemer - a Savior. Jesus was sent to redeem us through the Cross and thus, fulfilling the very Scripture in Genesis 3:15 that prophesied His arrival and purpose. May we be inspired always to share His Marvelous deed for mankind.

Our God is Mighty to Save !!!

Blessings to everyone.

To God be the glory.

                       On Sunday 27 Jan 2008 whilst praying together with brothers and sisters for those who went forward for the baptism of the Holy Spirit, in the midst of worshiping and praying I saw our Lord standing in front of God's people. His presence was bright, awesome and strong. I wept and reverently asked what He wants me to say. I heard the word 'Immerse' and 'Love'. I felt so strongly and shared with the church 'I see our Lord Jesus and He wants His children to immerse in His love"
All glory to Him and Him alone.

Ps Lau Tuck Siong's First Visit in 2008

The Church is blessed with the visit of Pastor Lau Tuck Siong on Sunday, 3 February 2008. The Church has always been blessed with his style of preaching - in simplicity and practicality, and not forgetting a good dosage of humor. Today's message highlights to us of the need to focus our attention on the race set before us by God amidst distractions that can easily entangle us.

Pastor Lau who now resides in Australia has come out of Asian Outreach and has formed his own organization focusing on equipping and training of leaders. More info can be viewed at his website here
